In 1956, Darriel “Buck” Nicholson & his wife Doris established the RockClift Memorial Company in Weatherford, Oklahoma. In 1960, Buck accepted a call to a full-time pastoral and evangelical ministry. Consequently, the company relocated to Clinton, Oklahoma, where his parents, Irvin and Nell, assumed control and operated it until Irvin’s passing in 1976. Buck and his wife, Doris, subsequently took over the business and renamed it Nicholson Monument Company. In 2020, their eldest daughter, Robin Nicholson Williams, inherited the leadership and currently oversees the daily operations, manages the office and shop, and upholds the exceptional standards that western Oklahoma has come to associate with the Nicholson family. Robin has nurtured her business acumen within this industry, including her early work in the shop, where she laid off stencils and engraved monuments manually. She transitioned to a full-time office position in 1983 and assumed the roles of lead designer and artist, assisting families in selecting the desired style, size, and color for their monuments.
Final Dates
From time to time a monument will need additional lettering. Rather it is adding a loved ones Date of Passing or adding a grand child's name to the back. The monument shown below will eventually need a final date added. Our dedicated, talented and experienced craftsmen travel across the state finalizing monuments that have been previously set.
Our staff is trained to carefully check the spelling and the accuracy of dates that are to be added to a monument. They monitor work schedules to insure that the job is completed in a timely manner. In addition, until the work has been finished, we stay in touch with each customer to keep them abreast of our progress.
Many jobs involving additional carving or inscription changes can be done in the cemetery without the necessity of moving the monument. The customer’s satisfaction with our work is always guaranteed.
